The PCRC presents solutions to the present challenges of the South-West

Kidnapping and banditry has been a major source of headache for people in Nigeria, especially in the south west part of the country, in recent time. These issues has made the Police Community Relation Committee of Osun State under  the chairmanship  of comrade Amitolu Shittu,to organize a program tagged ‘kidnapping and banditry : understanding the twin menace’.

    The program which was held at Aurora event Centre, Osogbo, has in attendance various security agencies alongside traditional leaders, youth leaders, religious leaders, traditional hunters, vigilantes and politicians to discuss security challenges in the State. The event which was made colorful by groups who arrived in uniformed attires, honored various important personnel such as The Osun state governor Adegboyega Oyetola who was represented by the secretary to the state government Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji, Dr. Farouq Abdullahi Mayam the national chairman of Police community Relation Committee and others.

  The best and diligent police officers who has done the state proud were given hundred thousand naira cheque each alongside with awards which were presented by members of the high table.

   Dr. Farouq Abdullahi Mayam the national chairman of PCRC said the program was organize for the purpose of providing intelligent information to policemen and other security agencies in order to give access to the PCRC to control crime rate in the country. These security agencies should be proactive in the quest to arrest the kidnappers.

  The representative of the governor Osun state Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji, the secretary to the state government agreed that there are many security challenges in the south west. He emphasized about what PCRC has been able to do to address these challenges by consulting the stake holders within the state and across the region, mobilization of vigilante groups and local hunters to police the flashing point and other parts of the state. PCRC are working hard to tackle youth employment which is one of the reason people make use of banditry and kidnapping.

  The event which made the audience and guest attentive was detailed in information with promising solutions to the current security challenges.
